Many people don’t take fine art seriously. They think it’s a waste of time and that it’s for deadbeats who just wanna paint and draw all day instead of getting “real jobs” or a genuine profession (ex: pediatrician, cashier, doctor, banker). They think that creativity has no value. It doesn’t help that most artists have no idea how to make money off of their art or even believe that making money from their art would be too commercial or greedy. In reality, the world would be a very boring place without art. The more visible and accessible it is, the better. The more people who see and “get” fine art, the better. The more people are introduced to fine art, the better. Creative endeavors can only be taken more seriously as professions if more people come to understand creative endeavors.
